Old Lady Post: It's Official

Juventus 0:2 Ex-Juventus Bologna

The Bianconeri have their heads firmly up their butts.

He's Bologna's girl, but he used to be mine.

The problem is obviously mental.  These are talented players.  Well, not Grygera, I grant you, but otherwise every single one of them is capable of great quality at least once in a while.  Many of them are good enough that we should be able to expect consistent quality pretty much all the time.  It's not injuries, except maybe at left back, where the memory of PDC in comparison to his replacements is starting to make him seem like a Ballon d'Or winner.  It's not the pitch, it's not the medical staff, it's not calciopoli, it's not the referees, it's not the weather, it's not the schedule, it's not the opponents, its not idiot Brazilians with hair issues allegedly causing discord by allegedly making alleged remarks about Alena Seredova's fine self and/or allegedly picking fights with Gigi over same, and it's not the curse of rejected ex-Juventini coming back to take care of unfinished business.  It's not even tired old attitudes left over from last season.  If you think that's the problem, please look around the locker room at all the new junk faces.

The problem is that their heads are not in the right place and there is no one who knows how to fix it.  The leaders on the pitch can't do it and Of Blacks can't do it.  Santa Claus is not coming to put any bluebirds on anyone's shoulder and Guus Hiddink isn't coming to magically transform anything.

The only thing left is to hope for the best, expect the worst, and love them win lose or draw, even if they don't take their shirts off.

Marco Di Vaio is fabulous despite the fact that he plays for someone else.  *sigh*  Respect.

Because Gigi was suspended for his red card against (oh dear) Lecce (*sigh*),  Marcostorari started in back.  All the photos of him are really photos of MDV scoring goals and Juventus defenders not doing much defending.

Once again, Gio started on the left.

He had the decency to get his kit good and dirty, so hooray for that.

His efforts to charm the ref were unavailing.

Gryga started on the right and did what he does best.  I love him, but he's terrible.

Leo and Barza started in the center.  Whatever else, Leo is still mah bb.

Martinez and his 12 million euro price tag started at left wing, where they were rather ineffectual.  His hairz, on the other hand.....

Melo in the middle, of course.

Claudio, too.

Two murderers.  unf and unf

Sorry.  Diego Perez is one of mine.

Milos on the right wing, as always.

Matri was on top.

Not his night.  Clearly.

Ditto.  That face tells you everything you need to know about his confidence.

He, his junk, and I have made up, so I know that's not the problem.

It's been soooooooooooo long since he was at his best.

And that brings us to half time.  When the second half started, Of Blacks took Martinez and Vincenzo off, and brought on ADP and Loooca, which meant the abandonment of the 4-4-2.

It didn't work, and some people blame LDN's tactics for the loss and called for his head.  I don't know much about tactics, but I know that tactics don't make shots clang off the post or drift over the bar.

Oh, Loooca.

Every ref in Europe knows your game, sweetheart.  You go down way too easily and you are not getting the calls because no one takes it seriously any more.  Stay of your feet, lad, and move on to Plan B.  Please.

I know, bb, I know.  You'll always be my first footie boyfriend, if that's any consolation.

Are you trying to hurt my feelings?

OK, then.  Apology accepted.

Il Capitano

Sometimes he just looks so small.

handssssssssss

Big whiny baby.  I never get tired of it.

*le sigh*

Him too.  Head up his butt.  Love him anyway.

Exactly.

So Saturday is The Big Game, at home against Milan.  Gigi is back from suspension, but Pepe has reached the yellow card limit, so he's unavailable.   I think I'm going to throw up.
