*sob!*
Brazzo, marginalized for nearly the entire season, has finally moved on. He's gone back to the Bundesliga, with Wolfsburg. This means his #7 is up for grabs. Let's hope that it goes to someone worthy. The Elf, marginalized for most of his career, will stay with Parma, who have bought half of him. Vaya con dios, both of you.
Traore and Rinaudo have returned to their parent clubs. It looks for now like Albertino is back at Liverpool, although it is possible that this is just another stage in the long, dramatic negotiation over his price. Liverpool is trying to get Doni (hahahahahaha) which I view as evidence of financial incompetence, so there is still hope. As usual, some loanees to Serie B have returned, but we'll have to see whether they are sold or re-loaned or actually become part of the squadra. There is no word yet on the futures of Tiago Mendes, Amauri, or Grosso.
cheryl_bites, who cannot keep her mitts off the Swiss, has already reported on the acquisitions of Michele Pazienza and Lichtsteiner from Lazio. Pazienza had a decent number of starts in the midfield for Napoli last season, so hooray. About Lichtsteiner, for whom being Swiss is not enough, I can only say ARE THE SHADES OF VINOVO TO BE THUS POLLUTED? If this is the result, then I'm willing to go another season with Sorensen at right back.
There are six more purchases. You've already heard about Pirlo and Ziegler. As for the other four, Quags has signed on until 2014 and Matri is here until 2015. Pepe (meh) will also be around until 2015, which is fine with me as long as Conte recognizes his limitations and doesn't expect him to be a starting left winger. Motta (oh dear) is here until 2015 too so, um, there's at least the possibility he will show us his mighty armz before then. He could also be useful in drilling the keepers on how to defend own goals. *sigh*
The rest is all rumors. Sissoko and Manninger are expected to leave and it's possible that the suits will buy Beppe Rossi. The squadra has started their ritiro at Bardonecchia, which is practically in France.
One more thing before we go to the kits. Capitano Cannavaro has announced his retirement, so that's the end of that. I'm the last person who should be trusted with doing a fitting tribute because my main experience with him is watching him not give a damn during the 2009-10 season. I hear that he used to be really really good before that.
Anyhoo, the kits:
There is also a peek at what might be the away kit, which looks more like a t-shirt than an official jersey. I like pink, so maybe it'll grow on me.
Only seven weeks until the new season starts, if I don't die from boredom before that.
