Old Lady Post: Sardines, La Dea, e la Neve

Originally posted on February 3, 2012

So this week, Dirtbunny went on a full-blown football blackout to avoid finding out the results of the Parma match before I could see it for myself, only to discover after three days that the match was snowed out.  I deprived myself of footie for nothing.  I deprived myself of last-minute mercato drama for nothing.  Poop.

So now I'm grumpy, and grumpy is the only way to look back at the crap-fest that was the Cagliari match last month.

But first, Mirko "trains" in the snow.  Looks like he learned his training methods from Seb Frey.

And here's someone who deserves a lot more attention than he gets.

Hiya Drea.

Warning:  Art Alert!

He's a prisoner of his own fame.   Get it?  Poor Alessa.

Alrighty then.

JUVENTUS 1:1 CAGLIARI

It started out auspiciously with a team goal that would make Barcelona proud if they had any inkling of football beyond the gates of their own glorious stadium.

After that, it was pure suck and the only good thing I can say is that, technically, Juventus did not lose.

Davide Astori, people.  Check it.

Him again.  ♥♥♥♥♥

ATALANTA 0:2 JUVENTUS

After that, Juve seemed ready to fall apart at Bergamo, what with German Denis and his fantastic form.

Forever my love ♥♥♥

Forever alone

Forever confused

Unexpectedly, BUM opened the scoring with a tidy little header.

RAWRRRR

The whole bench emptied to congratulate him.  I think Bonucci is about to cry.

Claudio kept Luca Cigarini down.

Giorgio shut down Mr. Denis.

PDC took a sweet strike that didn't quite come off.

And Giaccherini sealed the match.  Still undefeated, and winter champions.

How quickly one can go from a late bloomer who finally got his chance in the bigs to a ham making kissy faces at the camera.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and pretend, this time, that he's sending his love to his mama.

Awwww

BUM has been practicing his hugs.  (OK, yes, Cheryl, I admit his bird is a cutie.)

Pirlo brought the hair.

And everyone was happy for about five minutes before they started fretting about the upcoming Coppa match with Roma.

to be continued
